Carburetor Maintenance
Published by Crate Insider on 28th Apr 2014
We asked David Smith of David Smith Carburetors: "What is one thing you see racers doing on a weekly basis that is costing them races?"
Smith told us, "Maintenance is key, especially with your carburetor. When you wash your car, the best way to make sure your carb will continue to run smoothly is be sure it is lubricated properly. After washing, crank up the car and spray a small bit of WD-40 or Marvel Mystery on the shafts. Allow the motor to draw it into the shaft. The sandier or dustier the track, the more apt you are to get dirt in the shafts and hang up the throttle."
