Hammond Motorsports really put in the work and created new durable body bracing!

I'm here today with Dave Hammond from Hammond motor sports. And Dave, you have a brand new product in your hand. So tell us a little bit about it.

This is my new body bracing that we've come out with. It is a three sided piece. And we made a different alloy out of it and it was also a heat treated, this product is not brittle. But it takes a lot of force to bend this stuff.

Well, and where would be the best applications for your body bracing? What kind of cars?

Well, it'll work for all type of cars, the dirt late models dirt modifies pavement stuff. What's really important about it is when you're racing, especially on dirt and you start rubbing tires, this stuff is not going to fold up. And when you're doing like your big tracks were arrows more important. This will help keep your body nice and firm so you don't have deflection in the wind.

Now what about weight? Is it a Is it a heavyweight product or tell us tell us about what's how much this way right here in your hands.

It weighs a half a pound per foot.

That's really really light and yet it's really strong. I think you have a little bit demonstration for us don't yet

yes, we've got a couple demonstrations that we can do. One of them is right here. There's 160 plus pounds of weight hanging on it. And I'll put it up here on this floor jack and stand on it. It will not bend, it might have a little deflection but it will not bend.

Let's take a look at that.

Okay, Dave, that is pretty amazing. And I know you already told me your weight. So So tell us and tell us how much weights on this on this body bracing right now?

Unfortunately, 260 pounds, I need to lose some.

But we don't we don't have any chance of this breaking and we have some deflection but not bad.

Right? And this is over a 66 inch span that I've got all my weight on and just standing here. So it's a hell of a good product. We've tested it for a year before we released it. And honestly, on my own personal car I've got hit the door so hard I broke to spring steel. And we're going to put new spring steel and reuse the body bracing for 2020

and then tell us a little bit about the links I'll let you come down actually. So what what length is this available in or how is it How is it sold?

Well, several different ways. One way is we have a kit, the kit will be 3-66 inches, 2-20s, 2-26s and 2-10 inches or we have different links, we can ship up to a 72 inch piece no problem. Once you get past that we need to go to truck but I can make this all the way up to 16 foot long if needed.

Gotcha and also any if you need something and 16 foot long you can deal directly with dave but for any of the kits, you can actually find those on crate insider.com but there is one other little piece that you really built into this as well, tell us a little bit about that groove that is on this body bracing.

What I did on this body bracing is when you get it mounted in the car, like this will be this side here, but like your Springs or go here, or down here I actually got a centerline inscribed on all three pieces. So that way, you will get a nice straight line when you drill it. And when you get a body bracing with all the holes in it, that takes a lot of strength out. So by eliminating the holes, it will make the piece stronger. And the center line you will have a nice straight line so it doesn't look like it doesn't look really bad having rivets or bolt holes going up and down. You keep everything nice and straight,

professional and not amateur, correct, not amateur hour.
