Tech Tip: Why Changing your Master Cylinder is Important

In this video dirt late model driver, Matt Henderson, explains why changing your master cylinder yearly is a good idea.
Hey guys, Matt Henderson checking in here from our friends at Crate Insider. Today we're going to talk about a product that a lot of times is overlooked in the seasonal maintenance category, we're going to talk about master cylinders. And the reason commonly that they're overlooked is because when they're working, you have no reason to maintenance them. But the manufacturers tell us, and I've experienced myself through the years, these are a one year item. Take them out, throw them away, and when you're ready to start your season - just put a new one together. So these are actually done through a casting process and the harsh fluids that we run the brake fluids that we do run, break that that product down so it creates issues for the plunger to actually supply the fluid correctly to the brake calipers. So you'll feel like you have pedal, but the pressure won't get to the caliper to actually apply stopping force. So this is a Wilwood item and Crate Insider keeps all the various sizes in stock. And if you have any questions about what your car needs as far as the brake master cylinder sizes, you can contact your chassis manufacturer and if you have any questions about your brake system, the master cylinder sizes, or don't know where to look on your car, you can contact CrateInsider directly. We keep all of these in stock at CrateInsider.com or in our storefront at 592 South Main Street, Rutherfordton, North Carolina.
